Our vision is to help disadvantaged and underprivileged children, individuals and families achieve and maintain a stable, self-sufficient living situation through our charitable communities worldwide.

Children separated from their loved ones suffer tremendous stress and anxiety. Whether because of illness or some other tragedy, separation is one of the most stressful experiences anyone could deal with. At any age.

The caring staff of Potter’s Gate Charities is extremely sensitive to this fact. We recognize that children who come into an orphanage need special care. From day one. Our caring staff does all they can to treat both the child and, wherever possible, the family as well.

Our staff includes, among other childcare professionals:

  • Therapists
  • Social workers
  • Psychiatrists
  • Nurses

We offer many Safe Havens to the most vulnerable members of society worldwide with an emphasis on developing countries. So each of our residences provides a loving, nurturing environment for at-risk children, teens and young adults.

We work to make every orphanage a safe "home away from home". In such an environment, we help children learn appropriate behaviors by providing a structured and positive atmosphere. First, we build a child's confidence by rewarding small successes consistently. So in their next placement, they should be able to build on this progress and continue to build on their strengths.

As a public benefit charitable non-profit organization, we provide resident living for orphaned, abandoned and neglected children worldwide. We also support other small and large orphanages through our community programs.

The benefits of Safe Haven

Children raised in our Safe Haven orphanages by non-family members are no worse in their health, emotional and cognitive functioning, and physical growth than those cared for in their communities by relatives.

Also, the organization’s orphanage-reared children often perform better than their counterparts cared for by community strangers. Which is commonly the case in foster-care programs.

We determine placement on a case-by-case basis depending on the specific needs of the child and family.

Children separated from their loved ones suffer tremendous stress and anxiety.

How we support impoverished women

Although the situation is dire, we offer some incredible local programs supporting women and their families.

  • Emergency and transitional shelters for homeless women and their children provide much more than a roof over a family’s head. These shelters strive to improve families’ economic self-sufficiency by providing case management, tutoring, parenting classes, life skills and job training.
  • Permanent housing facilities for homeless and chronically homeless women. This provides varying amounts of financial support for women with multiple economic barriers. Therefore, more women can acquire the income required to maintain their own housing.
  • Maternity homes offer comprehensive services for women living independently after the birth of a child. These services include education and parenting classes as well as preparedness training.
  • Pregnancy counseling programs help expectant mothers resolve any immediate physical, environmental, and emotional needs and challenges. These programs also support women and teens in difficult situations, guiding them to make decisions that are right for them.
